The Alabama Chicken and Egg Festival was fun. We had a good time. There did not seem to be as many people there compared to the last couple of years. Lots of good music, food and entertainment. It was very educational. My favorite part is the Chicken Clucking Contest. Very funny!
After we left Mike and I went to John's Bar-b-que. It is a nice place to eat. They have just about anything that you want to eat there. They have everything from pinto bean plates to hotwings to seafood. I had the boneless hot wing basket. It was $5.99 It had plenty of food in the basket. It came with 2 hushpuppies, lots of fries and 8 wings. I hope we start going there. The one we went to is on Court Street. It is an old log cabin that was moved from Wren. It was restored to original style and then the back section was added on. They have antiques everywhere. You won't get board waiting on your food. You'll be to busy looking around at all the things on the walls.
Well we once again had a tornado just down the road. Two businesses on Highway 157 just outside of Moulton were damaged. Classical fruits was hit badly. The whole front wall of the building was pulled off and the pine thicket where the Strawberry Festival is held was damaged. They are working on clearing away the broken pines this week. The First weekend in May they are supposed to have the Strawberry Festival. It may be called off now.
Once again a friend of Mike's has died unexpectedly. Ronnie was just 42 and died from a heart attack. I know his 2 boys will really miss him a lot. Ronnie had asked Mike to plow up his garden for him. Mike never got a chance to do it. I'm sure Mike feels badly about that.
I hate finances. I wish that was one part of life I never had to deal with. Once again I bounced checks. I drive my self crazy doing that. I do have an excuse. Kind a sort of. I had a rotten cold a couple of weeks back. I felt horrible. I'm still not back to normal myself fully. Still that is not a great excuse. I have been back on my feet well over a week now. I could have caught everything back up. Maybe I have finally learned my 'lisson' and Brandon use to say.

Fridays Are Bonding Days
Today is Friday. That means bonding day for momma and me. We usually go to eat out and then to Wal-Mart. She wants to get her two digital converter boxes today. Her other coupons had expired and luckily they let her have two more coupons to replace them.
I want to get some grass killer and kill everything that I could possibly have to weed eat. I spent a lot of yesterday doing the first weed eating of the season for momma and me. A LOT of WEED EATING! I'm stove up. It is like this every spring. I get lazy over the winter and it nearly kills me when I get back working outside. I only had to mow one yard because my sweet husband mowed our yard for me the day before. I really LOVE it when he mows because he gets a lot of places that I am to chicken to get on the riding mower. I wimp out in some spots where I will be at a steep angle or I'm afraid that I will drag on something and tear up the riding mower. He is a dare devil where this is concerned. Guess it's a guy thing.
Tomorrow is the Chicken and Egg Festival in Moulton. Brandon and I are looking forward to it. Come join us! Should be fun for all.

Guilty Pleasure
Watching Ghost Hunters is my guilty pleasure. I know I shouldn't watch it
from the Christian point of view but I enjoy it so much. Hubby says as
long as I watch it for entertainment purposes only there is nothing wrong
with watching it. Hmmm. I need to pray more about it.
Hubby was so sweet tonight. He mowed our yard for me. Usually I do it but
this time he did it. Tomorrow all I have to mow is Momma's yard. I
also need to weed eat both places. Most likely only one will get done. I
need to do momma's really badly. She is still having problems from her hip
replacement. She is like Granddaddy and likes things done yesterday. If I
don't knuckle up and get it done I'm afraid she will.
I get so disheartened everytime I go to the grocery store. I had already
spent nearly $50 before I even got one item of food. I had gotten OTC
medicines, dog food, cat food, Motor oil (2 Qts was over $7.36!), paper
towels and toilet paper. By the time I finished buying groceries I paid
over $122. I still didn't get enough for the whole week. I only have
enough for 7 days of breakfasts, something for the work lunches, and only 5
suppers. I hadn't had anything to eat all day and it was already 3 pm. I
was going to go buy me some lunch at sonic or Burger King but I felt after
spending that much money I really couldn't afford to.
I heard on the news this morning that gas prices was suppose to be going
down again and food prices too. You could fool me. Gas is $1.93 at
Wiggins. I have cut out my daily paper and I only go to town once or twice
a week. Other than this I stay home. Good thing that I am a homebody. If
momma is going to town I will catch a ride with her if I need something.
Same with her. We always ask the other if there is something the other
needs or if they need to go somewhere. It helps both of us.
It's getting close to bed time. Pearl, Gidget, Drifter and Maggie are all
asleep on the bed behind me. (They are our dogs). I'm glad that they are
not BIG dogs. Drifter keeps growing taller though. His momma and Daddy
are smaller dogs. He must be taking after a doggy great-grandparent or
something. He may be the next Clifford. LOL.

Storm Damage
The last few weeks have been rough in Northern Alabama. We have had high winds, heavy rains, tornadoes and softball sized hail. We have had trees blown down in our pasture, a roof blown off an outbuilding. Our neighbors haven't been so lucky. The lady across the road had a tree blown down barely missing their pickup and garage. The family just down the road had a huge tree land on the back of their pickup and on top of their outbuildings. Momma had shingles blown off and a well house torn to pieces. There is a huge tree that has fallen in the school parking lot and several down behind the volunteer fire department. Still it could have been much worse.
We are supposed to have quiet weather through Friday with a 20% chance of thunderstorms both Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully we will have nice weather both Saturday and Sunday. The Chicken and Egg Festival is this weekend. The CMA's are planning to ride in the bike run. Mike will be riding the Good Lord willing. Brandon and I are planning on going to the festival. I wish Nathaniel would go but I don't think there is much hope in that.
If anyone is going to be near Moulton the weekend come check out the Chicken and Egg Festival. It ought to be a lot of fun! Hope to see you there!

Again?
Severe weather possible again today. Seems like we are living this every couple of days now. I had about gotten over my anxiety with severe weather until the tornadoes that came through Moulton and killed and hurt so many folks last year. While not on my 'doorstep' it wasn't that many miles away. Friday when I heard that it was on the ground on Hwy 157 my heart beat just a little faster. I knew it wouldn't affect this little community but I knew it was heading toward Decatur. I worry about my men folks at Automatic. I don't think Automatic lets the workers know when something bad is heading their way. You would think that they would let them go into a safe place when it is said to be heading toward you. It they do get hit one of the days and people get hurt there may be some things finally said about this policy. It is sad that in so many cases someone has to get hurt before any thing is done. Keep the Southeastern US in your prayers today that we get through safely.

About Me
My name is Teresa. I am a very down-to-earth gal from Northern Alabama. I'll be 45 on April 22, 2009. I am married and I have 2 sons. I love my family very much and I also love my Lord and Savior. I am very far from perfect but by God's grace I am forgiven.
My favorite things are my computer, my Sable station wagon, and my Yamaho Morphus.
We have 5 dogs and 1 cat in our family. We have a "stray" outside that might as well be ours. He looks like a boxer bulldog. He is as sweet as he can be. Someone has housetrained him and he loves to ride in our vehicles. He will get in one spot and stay there while riding. I don't understand why anyone would just abandon him after spending so much time training him. If you know of anyone who needs a great family dog please email me at mommatree@iwon.com.

My blogs for the most part will be boring. My English usage is terrible at times, but like I said I'm a down-to-earth girl who is going to write what she feels, sees, thinks etc... basically whatever comes to my mind. So you are forwarned. : )
